D’banj receives BEFFTA Entertainment Icon Award at the British House of Parliament

dbanj-2 BEFFTA Entertainment Icon AwardOver the weekend D’banj received a BEFFTA Entertainment Icon Award at the British House of Parliament in Westminster, London. The award was presented to him by Lord John Bird.

He got the prestigious award for opening the way for other Nigerian Artist to the UK and the world, Dbanj Oliver twist topped the UK Chart for several months, making it the first Nigerian to topped the UK Chart,

The award ceremony was attended by Dr. Pauline Long (Founder, BEFFTA Awards), Chief Bimbo Afolayan who is presently the chairman of BEFFTA, Dayo Olomu and many more people.

Widely regarded as the premier black awards ceremony in the UK, BEFFTA honours ethnic minority artisans, entertainers, media outlets, intellectuals and community.

Talking about the award, D’banj said “I am very grateful for this award. I realized about three years ago, that to whom much is given, much is expected, so I am happy to be honoured and will continue to do my best for my fans and all those I can help.”

Dbanj is regarded as the Most successful artist in Nigeria to make it to the biggest stage in the world music, with the likes of SnoopDogg, KanyeWest on his featured list, and the likes of BeatsByDre endorsements, OliverTwist was the most successful song by a Nigerian artiste to hit the world world, topping chart in most of the music countries like the US and the UK, he also got the award in Paris for the most bankable African artiste two years ago.
